91 ( +1 | -1 ) Some interesting links on YouTube...... Even to the extent of putting voices to names. Seems Sofia (What happened to Zsofia - such a cool spelling?) recalls Bobby Fischer with some fondness. Had a look at a weird thing about a "Fischer-Karpov" mate. Nonsense, of course, but it occurred to me that if you were a non-chessplayer, and someone was telling you the rules and practice of chess, the explanation would look uncommon like this, especially once you got into the arcanery of castling and captures "en passant". Even the rules of wins and draws, not to mention tournament practice in general, aren't obvious until you get used to them. A good reminder perhaps that to all of us there was a time in which chess was an alien world... At any rate, responses to this clip varied widely. It is noticeable that those who liked it were a bit more articulate than the foul-fingered detractors... Cheers, Ion
